High School Honors: 3-year football letterman; All-City Team 1951, scoring 66 of team's 78 total points; 3-year basketball letterman; 3-time All-City Team; 3-year baseball letterman; 3-time All-City Team, batting above .350 for 3 years; 4-year track and field letterman, scoring in several events.

College Honors: 4-year football letterman; on only undefeated football team in ICC history; ranked 2nd in points scored during an ICC season (109) and 2nd in nation 1954; led state of Indiana in scoring 3 years 1952-1954 (large and small schools); Helms Foundation Football Hall of Fame 1954; 4-year letterman in basketball and baseball plus 2 in track; 14 letters are unequaled in men's sports up to present time at University of Indianapolis (formerly ICC).

Professional Athletic Background: Played with Baltimore Colts 1956, 1957.

Professional Athletic Honors: Named Colts Outstanding First Year Player 1956.

Coaching Experience: Head football coach at Carmel High School 1958-1967, with a record of 69-24-5; defensive coordinator at Ball State University 1968, 1969; head coach at ICC 1970, 1971 and at Edinburgh HS 1976-1978; 9th grade head coach at Southside Junior HS in Columbus, IN, 1979, 1980; retired from coaching in 1980.

Coaching Honors: Presented "Outstanding Coaching Success" by Indiana Central Alumni Association 1964.

Special Recognition: Carmel Jaycees Distinguished Service Award 1966; Indiana Central Hall of Fame 1986; chosen a Life Member by Carmel Football Alumni Club 1992 and Athletic Alumnus of the Year as part of 100th anniversary celebration of Manual HS; Indianapolis Greyhound "I" Person of Year 1999-2000; University of Indianapolis Hall of Fame in 2001 as part of 1953 undefeated football team and in 2004 as part of 1955-1956 basketball team; developed football feeder system in Carmel grades 4-8; formed Carmel Dad's Club in 1958-1959 season to handle Saturday morning football for grades 4-6; Carmel Dad's Club remains active in football and other sports.
