High School Honors:  4-year football letterman; captain 1967-1969; team MVP 1968-1969; All-City 1967-1969; All-State 1968-1969; City Scoring Champion and Scholastic Magazine All-American 1969; played 40 consecutive varsity games with record of 34-6; his jersey #81 permanently retired in 1970; 4-year basketball letterman; City Athlete of the Year 1970; National Honor Society and American Legion Outstanding Citizenship Award 1970.

College Attended:  Ohio State University                        Graduated:  1975

College Honors:  Outstanding freshman linebacker 1970; starting defensive end 1971-1972; member of two Big Ten Championship teams; first football scholarship student from Indiana to attend OSU.
