High School Honors:  Lettered in football, basketball, and track 3 years; State Champion in Pole Vault 1930.

                           Ball State University  MA                   1958 

College Honors:  Lettered in football and track 3 years; named to several All-Big 10 and All-American teams in football; member of College All-Stars 1935; played on All-Star team that played Chicago Bears with Bears winning 5 to 0.

Coaching Experience:  Coached 1 year at Lowell HS in Lowell, IN with record of 8-0; 3 years at Mankato State College in Mankato, MN, with record of 19-8; 6 years at University of Dayton in Dayton, OH, with record of 39-15; 2 years at Wiley HS in Terre Haute with record of 13-7; 14 years at Anderson HS in Anderson, IN, with record of 92-48; coached 26 years with a total record of 171-78, a winning percentage of .690.

Coaching Honors:  Twice Coach of the Year of North Central Conference.

Outstanding Players Coached:  Bill Combs, Lowell; Louie LoPata, Little All-American at Mankato State; Jack Padley, Little All-American at University of Dayton; Ken Johnson, Anderson and Cincinnati Bengals; and numerous other players who played college or professional football. 

Special Recognition:  Past-President of Indiana High School Coaches Association; retired from teaching at Anderson High School in 1977.

Family:  Wife, Florence (deceased); children, Sharon (Bill), James (Margie), and Jill (Michele); 5 grandchildren, and 7 great-grandchildren.
