High School Honors:  In 1960, All-Area Quarterback, Honorable Mention Football All-American, All-State Baseball Pitcher, and played in the East-West All-Star Game.

College Attended:  Ohio State University       Graduated:  1965
                           Bowling Green State University   MS

College Honors:  Full athletic baseball scholarship

Coaching Experience:  Coached football and baseball at several Ohio schools for 12 years; began career at Penn HS in 1977 as head baseball coach and offensive line coach; at Penn 1977-2002, with a record of 267-37.

Coaching Honors:  Had 5 State Championships, 3 Finalist teams, 9 Regional Championships, 12 Sectional Championships, and 21 Northern Indiana Conference Championships; 89 game regular season win streak and 22 game play-off win streak; teams averaged over 30 points per game for 25 years.

Outstanding Players Coached:  Mike Rosenthal of Notre Dame, NY Giants, and Minnesota Vikings; Randy Schneider, a 2-year captain at IU and drafted by St. Louis Rams; Mike Pinter, a freshman starter for Grand Valley State, Division II National Champs; J. J. Simmons, a freshman letterman at Illnois. 

Special Recognition:  Indiana clinic speaker - Blackford 1995, State Clinic 1999, Hall of Fame Clinic 2001, Wisconsin 1999, Mega Clinic 2000, and Coach of the Year Clinic 1984; held football camps - Belden LM 6 times, Notre Dame 8 times, Wisconsin 2 times, and Penn for 26 years; member of Indiana Football Coaches Association; member and past president of Indiana High School Baseball Coaches Association; inducted into the Maumee High School Hall of Fame in 1995; retired from teaching and coaching in June 2003.
