Served in military between high school and college careers.

College Attended:  University of Notre Dame 1 year

College Honors:  All-American Back 1950; played in Gator Bowl 1951; Skyline Conference scoring champion, 1950, with 130 points; played for North Team in 1951 Senior Bowl game in Mobile, AL; All-American honors 1950 at age 29.

WW II service in US Army as a medical corpsman between Notre Dame and Wyoming college career made him Wyoming's oldest player.

Coaching Experience:  Evanston, WY, HS with record of 9-1 and State Championship 1951; Saginaw, MI, HS with record of 8-1 and Conference Championship 1952; assistant coach at Tulsa University 1953.

Special Recognition:  Was enshrined in the College Football Hall of Fame in South Bend 2001; 1st football player from South Bend to be inducted into the College Hall.

Family:  Wife, Margaret; sons, Tom, Mark, Eric, and Sam.
