College Attended:  Ohio State University      Graduated:  1922

College Honors:  All-Big 10 Honors as end 1922; played in Rose Bowl 1921.

Coaching Experience:  Football coach at Huron, in Erie County, OH, 1923-1924; at Cleveland Heights HS, OH, 1925-1929; at Evansville F. J. Reitz HS 1922-1925; coached at Evansville College 1930-1943; also served as athletic director and basketball coach.

Coaching Honors:  Teams won 2 Greater Cleveland Championships.

Special Recognition:  While in college, he officiated at many football and basketball games; Evansville College established the William V. Slyker Award in his honor that is given to the most outstanding male athlete annually; after coaching career, he became a public defender for the Vanderburgh County City Court. 

Coach Slyker passed away September 1, 1949.
