High School Honors:  Member of football and wrestling teams, earning 2 letters in each sport.

College Attended:  Wabash College             Graduated:  1972

College Honors:  First Team All-Conference as defensive end  senior year; First Team Academic All-American for Division III;  suffered a knee injury during Division III wrestling tournament. 

Professional Career:  Attended medical school to be an orthopaedic surgeon; during his training from 1976 to 1981, he took care of Warren Central High School and continued to provide medical coverage to the school through 1992; in 1982, he began private practice in Indianapolis, focusing on sports injuries; served as orthopaedic team physician for Purdue University; served as team physician and orthopaedic surgeon for the Indianapolis Colts for 15 years; named NFL Pro Bowl physician in 1990 and 1997; was instrumental in bringing the NFL Combine to Indianapolis; now works at The Shelbourne Knee Center focusing on all aspects of knee problems and injuries.
