Coaching Experience: Sturgis, MI, HS 1950-1951; Three Rivers, MI, HS; 1st and only undefeated and State Champions; assistant head coach at the University of Detroit 1955-1958 and head coach at John Carroll University, Cleveland, OH, 1959-1964 (29-6); 3 undefeated seasons out of 5; set 6 National Defensive Records; assistant coach at Notre Dame 1967-1968; head coach of University of Kentucky (Southeastern Conference) 1969-1972; construction of new stadium broke university record for season tickets sold.

Coaching Honors: National Catholic Coach of the Year 1959; coached in the East-West All-Star Game 1965; Coach of the Week 1969; charter member of Olivet College Athletic Hall of Fame 1972; John Carroll Hall of Fame 1976.

Professional Athletic Background: Defensive coordinator for the Buffalo Bills 1973-1974.
