Coaching Experience:  Freshman coach at Center Grove HS 2 years; backfield coach/offensive coordinator at Decatur Central HS 5 years; head coach Hamilton Heights HS 2 years; head coach at Western HS 35 years; overall record of 234-141.

Coaching Honors:  Ranked 19th on Indiana Football Coaches Association all-time coaching wins poll; ranked 11th among all inactive coaches; defensive coordinator of Indiana North All-Star team 1979 and 1985; 30 players named All-State; 6 players in North-South All-Star Games; 4 undefeated teams at Western HS 1984, 1985, 1988, 1989; 15 Conference Championships; 1982 team made State play-offs under points system; 1983, 1984 teams made State play-offs under cluster system; 1984 team won Sectional.

Special Recognition:  Inducted into the Indiana Wrestling Hall of Fame as an official in 2000; inducted into the Howard County Athletic Hall of Fame in 2010.
