High School Attended:  Evansville F. J. Reitz Graduated:  1939

High School Honors:  All-State End; All-City Basketball; played baseball 3 years; received Kiwanis Sportsmanship Award 1939.

Played football for Great Lakes Naval Training Center in 1943.

College Attended:  Purdue University          Graduated:  1947

College Honors:  Played 3 years varsity football

Coaching Experience:  Coached at Jackson Center HS (now Hamilton Heights) for 5 years with 23-14-9 record; New Albany HS for 22 years with 122-81-9 record.

Coaching Honors:  1954 team was undefeated and won the SIAC and finished 2nd in state ratings; in 1957 and 1958, won 18 and lost 2; ranked 3rd in 1957 and 7th in 1958; in 1966 and 1967, ranked 4th and 5th in state ranking.

Special Recognition:  Served on UPI Rating Board for 8 years; started a Little League Football Program at New Albany; received the Junior Chamber of Commerce Outstanding Young Man Award for New Albany in 1956; was commissioned a Kentucky Colonel for work in athletics; served on the Board of Directors, Indiana Football Hall of Fame.

Coach McCaffry passed away September 23, 2002.
