High School Honors:  2-year starter at tight end/defensive end; captain of football team and MVP senior year; All-City Gary, and  All-Conference, Chicago Catholic Metro; Junior AP All-State; Senior All-State; Conference Champs and ranked 5th in state with a 17-3-1 record during his 2 years as a starter; played forward on basketball team; member National Honor Society.

College Attended:  Indiana University         Graduated:  1969

College Honors:  3-year letterman sophomore, junior, and senior years as defensive end; Big Ten Champions 1967 and team played in Rose Bowl with a national ranking of 4th; received team's Outstanding Lineman Award as a senior; named to All-Big Ten Academic team and 2nd Team All-Big Ten; played for coach John Pont.

Special Recognition:  Began a career as an accountant after collegiate playing days; inducted into the Andrean Hall of Fame; served as color commentator on local cable station for Valparaiso High School football games; helped start the Valparaiso Viking Quarterback Club.
