High School Honors:  All-State half-back in football 1928; football captain; also played varsity basketball and track; National Honor Society; Hi-Y Club.

College Attended:  Purdue University           Graduated:  1933

College Honors:  As a running back was All-State; All-Big Ten; All-American Big Ten Medal of Honor (Athletic and Scholarship) 1932-1933; ETTA KAPPA NU Electrical Engineering Honorary Fraternity; Walter Camp All-American; Purdue Most Valuable Player; played in Shrine East-West Game as a fullback, San Francisco, and the World's Fair Game, Chicago.

Professional Athletic Background:  Played for Boston Redskins in 1933 and Chicago Cardinals in 1934.

Special Recognition:  After football career ended, became Assistant Chief Engineer of Jefferson Electric; at retirement in 1976, was sales manager of Mallory Controls Company; member of Frankfort, IN, Rotary Club and Elks Club.

Mr. Horstmann passed away January 23, 1998.
