College Honors:  Played football on freshman team then lettered as a right guard 1926-1928 seasons; record for carrying a blocked kick the farthest distance for a touchdown occurred in 1928 Purdue-Northwestern game, a Big Ten record that stood until 1961; chosen All-State one year; All-Big Ten Honorable Mention 1928; also lettered in swimming and water polo 3 years; earned 9 major letters, 3 in each sport.

Professional Career:  A registered pharmacist; Director, Foundation of Pharmaceutical Education; President of Associated Chain Stores 1962-1964 and 1968-1970; Chairman of H.S. Benedick Company 1962-1964 and 1968-1970; served on Indiana Board of Pharmacy and Lederle Pharmacy Consulting Board.

Special Recognition:  Central Indiana Boy Scout Council Silver Bearer 1947; Silver Antelope Region VII 1964; National Council Silver Buffalo 1971 and Distinguished Eagle Scout 1969; Order of St. George by Central Indiana Council of Catholic Laymen; National Public Relations Committee "P.R. Brand" Award and "Bell Ringer" Award 1972; 11th District American Legion Distinguished Citizen of the Year 1963; named Sagamore of the Wabash by Office of Governor 1969; Arsenal Tech "T" Blanket Award for Outstanding Citizenship 1971 and Hanson G. Anderson Service Award as an Outstanding Graduate 1975.

Family:  Wife, Marguerite (Peg); one daughter and two grandchildren.

Mr. Hook passed away July 13, 1992.
