Coaching Experience:  Coached 8th grade football 1961-1975; assistant high school football coach 1976-1979; head coach of West Lafayette 1980-1999, retiring in 1999, with a record of 142 wins, 65 losses and 4 regular undefeated seasons.

Coaching Honors:  Won or tied 6 Hoosier Conference Championships; 6 Sectional Championships; 4 Regional Championships; 2 Semi-State Championships; State Runner-up 1984; Class 2A State Championship 1993; assistant coach of North All-Stars 1984; head coach of North All-Stars 1993; Hoosier Conference Football Coach of the Year 1991 and 1993; Ball State Alumni Association Alumnus Coach of the Year 1993.

Outstanding Players Coached:  Chike Okeafor, Purdue and San Francisco 49ers 1991-1993; Dan Provonsha, Class 3A State Mental Attitude Winner 1993; Mike Funk, Class 2A Mental Attitude Winner 1984.

Special Recognition:  Involved in Fifth Grade Camp program over 30 years; served as Junior High Athletic Director 1961-1982.
