Coaching Experience:  Assistant coach at Roger Bacon 4 years; head coach at Cincinnati Elder HS 7 years; head coach at Merrillville HS 9 years; head coach at Southport HS 17 years; also was head baseball coach and assistant basketball coach at Roger Bacon 4 years; assistant basketball coach at Merrillville 7 years; retired from coaching in 2000 after 37 years, with a career coaching record of 216-124-2.

Coaching Honors:  Voted Coach of the Year in two states during his career - Ohio Football Coaches Association Coach of the Year 1972 and Indiana Football Coaches Association Coach of the Year in 1976 and 1985; coached West All-Star Team in Cincinnati 1973; Sectional Champions 1985; coached 1990 Class 5A semi-state game with Southport; led Merrillville to Class 3A State Football Championship; coached Elder to Ohio State Championship 1972; Indiana State Sectional Runner-up in 1981 and 1987.

Special Recognition:  Inducted into Roger Bacon Hall of Fame; Region 1 and Region 7 Director for Indiana Football Coaches Association and member of IFCA All-Star Rating Board.
