High School Honors:  3-year football letterman; football team captain; football All-Conference honors; 3-year letterman in basketball; 2-year letterman in track; 1-year letterman in baseball.

College Attended:  Purdue University          Graduated:  1958

College Honors:  Freshman football at Purdue; also played varsity football one year at University of Colorado.

Coaching Experience:  6 years assistant and 8 years head coach at Hammond HS 1967-1980; head coach at Hammond Morton HS 1981-1991; retired from coaching in 1991 with an overall record of 120-70, a .632 winning percentage.

Coaching Honors:  At Hammond HS - undefeated seasons (10-0) in 1978 and 1980; Indiana Lake Shore Conference Champions 1977-1980; Regional Championship 1978; at Hammond Morton - Indiana Lake Shore Conference Champions 1987; 6-time Indiana Lake Shore Conference Coach of the Year; won 28 consecutive conference games 1977-1980.

Outstanding Players Coached:  Randy Harrison (Notre Dame), Kurt Nondorf (Yale), Tommy Franks (Indiana State), Jeff Tharp (Northern Illinois); All-State players Mark Murakowski, Steve Runyon, Nick Kolisz, Jeff Barton, Art Rogers, Kevin Enright, and Mike Hall.

Special Recognition:  Life member of Indiana Football Coaches Association; inducted into Hammond Sports Hall of Fame 2005.

Family:  Wife, Brenda (deceased); children, Scott, Sherri, Julie (deceased), and Michael.
