Coaching Experience:  Head football coach at Streator, IL; coached at East Chicago Washington; coached at Terre Haute Wiley; head coach at ISU 1949-1950.

Coaching Honors:  Won PAC Championship in Illinois; Illinois High School Coach of the Year 1958.

Special Recognition:  Became superintendent of Mt. Vernon Metropolitan Schools in 1968, retiring in 1978; inducted into Mount Vernon High School Athletic Hall of Fame 1982; received honorary doctor of laws degree from University of Southern Indiana 1978; active in numerous community and church organizations.

Family:  Wife, Helen (deceased); sons, J. Michael and Robert; six grandchildren.
