High School Honors:  UPI and AP All-State Football Team 1974 and 1975; North Central Conference All-Conference Team 1974 and 1975; High School All-American Team 1975; Most Valuable Player in North-South All-Star Game in 1976; set RHS school rushing record of 2,277 yards for an average of 7.9 yards per carry; had 40 touchdowns.

College Attended:  University of Notre Dame Graduated: 1980 

College Honors:  UPI First Team All-American 1979; MVP in 1978 Cotton Bowl when ND upset #1 ranked Texas and Earl Campbell to win the National Championship; was Notre Dame's leading rusher of all time at the time of his graduation; set records for single season of 1,437 yards, single game of 255 yards, and career of 3,472 yards; average yards per game in 1979 of 130.6 yards and for career of 89 yards; had 17 career games of 100 or more yards; all-time record for scoring of 17 TDs in a season 1979, and career TDs of 32.

Professional Athletic Background:  First round draft pick of the New England Patriots in 1980; set rookie rushing record for the Patriots; stayed with the Patriots 3 years; spent time with Cleveland and Houston before finishing pro career with the Chicago Fire of the World Football League.

Special Recognition:  Returned to Richmond where he serves as an Equity Officer with Richmond Community Schools; active in volunteering in various ways within his community.
