High School Honors:  All-State football and basketball

College Attended:  Indiana University          Graduated:  1924

College Honors:  Earned a total of 5 letters; played football 1921-1923; ran track 1920-1924; also played basketball.

Professional Athletic Background:  Played with the Kokomo Independent Football Team in 1924; coached Evansville Rockets professional team in 1946.

Coaching Experience:  Coached at Logansport High School in 1924, Evansville Central High School 1925-1927, and Richmond High School 11 years, coaching football and basketball.

Coaching Honors:  Led Richmond HS basketball team to state tournament in 1934 and 1935; his teams won 11 of 13 sectionals; RHS won North Central Conference title in 1943.

Special Recognition:  Instrumental in starting football in the junior high schools at Richmond; retired from high school coaching in 1945; returned to education and served 14 years as Vanderburgh County Schools (Evansville) superintendent; inducted into the Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame 1971.

Family:  Wife, Thelma (deceased); second wife, Virginia.
